Gas bar employee charged PDF Print E-mail

A Bowmanville gas station attendant has been charged by the Durham Regional Police for allegedly harrassing several female customers.

Police say that on March 19, 2011, a 25-year-old Clarington woman drove to the gas station on King Street East in Bowmanville and had her vehicle filled up. While speaking with the woman, the employee allegedly reached into the vehicle and touched the customer in an inappropriate manner. The male was subsequently arrested, charged and released on an undertaking.

In April 2011, a second female, also a customer of the gas bar, reported the accused had been harassing her since January 2011. The suspect determined where she lived and drove by her house on numerous occasions, observing her through open windows. This same female had been allegedly harassed in mid-2010 by the same male, but she did not wish to lay charges at that time.

Neither victim was physically injured.
