Canadian Tire Mosport Park

Located north of Bowmanville, Canadian Tire Mosport Park has been thrilling motorsports fans since the late nineteen fifties. A major stop on the racing circuit in Canada, Mosport attracts race fans from all over Southern and Central Ontario . Ganaraska Forest

The largest forest area in Southern Ontario, Ganaraska Forest straddles Clarington and a number of neighbouring municipalities. The 11,000 acre forest offers 300km of hiking trails for visitors who want to experience nature.

Pick Your Own Produce

The Municipality of Clarington calls the area the Pick-Your-Own Capital of Canada. There are over 400 working farms in Clarington, and many of them allow the general public to come and pick their own produce. From pumpkins to berries, the experience brings urbanites closer to the farm, and is a great family outing. The Clarington Municipal website has a listing of Pick-Your-Own locations.

Tyrone Mills

Pictured above in 1913, Tyrone Mills has been around since 1846. Located in Tyrone, north of Bowmanville, the historical mill is now a great place for visitors to drop in. The mill is still in use, producing flour and lumber. There is a gift shop featuring a number unique items, and hot apple cider on tap as well. For more information, visit the mill's website.
