A Clarington not-for-profit organization located in Newcastle is giving local artists a boost, while providing area art lovers a place to take part in classes, workshops and demonstrations.
A Gift of Art is located at 20 Robert St., W., Unit C in Newcastle. According to the group's website at www.agiftof-art.com, "the Studio is used not just for classes but for various programs that benefit the community as a whole. An example would be a seminar discussing the usefulness of herbs in the household."
A number of events are on tap at A Gift of Art in March, including a March Break Day Camp (parents can call 905-987-2264 for details).

March 13 -11 am to 2 pm – Meet the Artist, Carole Arsenault, Embroidery
March 15 – 19 - March Break Day Camp
March 20 - Children’s Clay Workshop 1-3pm $25.00 materials included 6-8 year olds
March 21 - Children’s Clay Workshop #2 1-3pm $25.00 materials included 9-12 year olds
March 22 – Drawing Classes begin a 4 week session
March 22 - After School fun with Art. Every Monday evening 4-5:30pm 6-8yr olds 8 wks-$120.00
March 25 - Watercolour Classes with Pauline Stephenson 9-12pm 6wks $120.00
March 28 - Easter Chocolate Workshop with Lynn McNutt-$20.00 10:30-12:30
