Ontario Power Generation's Darlington location is offering a number of free March break events with an educational flavour for area kids from March 15 to March 19.

Activities offered

Signs of Spring - Free
Monday, March 15 – 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Darlington Waterfront Trail
Explore the trail, join Friends of Second Marsh for a fun nature activity, go for a horse-drawn wagon ride and warm up with a treat and hot drink around the campfire.

Community Skate - Free
Tuesday, March 16 – 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
South Courtice Arena (1595 Prestonvale Road, Courtice)
Strap on your skates, put on your helmet and go for a spin.
Pad A – Parents & Tots Skate; Pad B – General Public Skate

St. Patrick's Day Party - Free
Wednesday, March 17- 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. OR 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Darlington Information Centre

Put on your green and join us for a wee bit’o fun at a St. Patrick’s Day party. There will be games and crafts and lots of green, all of them with an Irish theme.

Spin! Pop! Boom! with ‘Mad Science’ – Free
Thursday, March 18 – 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. OR 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

905-623-7122. Space is limited – suitable for ages 5 to 12.
Prepare to be amazed by the incredible and surprising world of science. Participate in fun, hands-on activities to create cool objects you can take home.

Breakfast with the Birds
@ Purple Woods Conservation Area Maple Syrup Festival
Friday, March 19 – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Create and take home your own ‘breakfast with the birds’ feeder and take a trip back in time to visit a pioneer school classroom. Purple Woods is located in Oshawa, ~ 20 minutes north of Taunton Road, at the intersection of Simcoe Street and Coates Road.
(Note: $7 per family admission fee to Purple Woods. OPG-sponsored activities are free.)
